People’s Party group, Alicante County Council will experience a deep renewal. The popular ones who achieve an absolute majority will have sixteen MPs for PSPV-PSOE, thirteen for Compromís and that of Vox, which is the first to enter the state institution. Thirteen of these sixteen MPs will be new. Therefore, only three will repeat: Ana Serna, who remained the sole vice president after Julia Parra moved from the ranks of the Ciudadanos to the ranks of the PP, Juan de Dios Navarro, and Bernabé Cano, who received nothing. The covid vaccine debate, after winning a new absolute majority in La Nucia in the municipal elections on May 28.

The radical renewal in the PP means that it will not repeat itself, especially the president, to eleven of the fourteen deputies it had in the previous term. Carlos Mazonwill be sworn in as Consell’s new president in the coming weeks. Alejandro Morant, Eduardo Dolón, Javier Sendra, Juan Bautista Roselló, Mari Carmen Jover, María Gómez, Miguel Ángel Sánchez, Sebastián Cañadas, Teresa Belmonte and José Ramón González de Zárate will not continue. Two other popular members, Adrián Ballester and Juan Francisco Pérez Llorca, had already left MPs before their term expired. A significant number of these MPs will accompany Mazón in the Valencian Parliament: Dolón, Sendra, Gómez, González de Zárate and Pérez Llorca. Parra was going to do it too, but eventually it was on the PP Congress list for Alicante. His role in Cortes will fall into the hands of fellow former Cs assistant Javier Gutiérrez, who has turned orange to blue.

new leader

Among the new faces of the PP, the first notable are the Mayor of Benidorm, who will take over from Mazón and lead the institution, and Toni Pérez, the party’s provincial chairman. With the third MP Serna and Navarro Elche jurisdiction The mayor of Santa Pola will be Loreto Serrano. The four assistants from l’Alacantí will be Cristina García (Alicante), Lourdes Llopis (El Campello), José Antonio Bermejo (Mutxamel) and David Aracil (Sant Joan d’Alacant). As with PSPV, San Vicente del Raspeig remained unrepresented in the popular group of the Provincial Assembly.

In Vega Baja, PP also has three deputies. These will be Pilar de la Horadada councilor María del Mar Sáez and Cox mayor Antonio Bernabeu and Formentera del Segura, Francisco Cano. The list of popular MPs was completed by Carlos Pastor, who was the candidate for Mayor of Alcoy in the last 28M; Arturo Poquet, mayor of Benissa; Magdalena Martínez, Mayor of Biar; and Carmen Sellés, mayor of Hondón de las Nieves, the last of the endorsements. Miguel Ángel Salguero, who was a candidate in the municipal elections in Villena, was one of the most talked-about names in the PP party’s parliamentary candidacy pool.

the rest of the groups

Vox is the last group left to verify the surrogate, knowing PP’s names. Alicante’s councilor, Mario Ortolá, is one of those people who appears to be the representative of Alicante. extreme right formation in the provincial institution where it will be released. In Compromís, which also has a seat, Ximo Perles will replace Gerard Fullana, who will be in Parliament in the new legislature. Finally, only three hundred will repeat in PSPV as in PP: José Antonio Amat, Joaquín Hernández and Isabel López. Among the new, everything indicates that the socialist spokesperson will be Vicente Arques, mayor of l’Alfàs del Pi.

Most of the names are now known, city council constitution, except for a script change, the date will be July 19th. The only municipality after 28M where the situation has not yet been resolved is Alcalalí. However, the new mayor’s inauguration will take place this Friday, allowing for the creation of the new provincial Authority, which will take place in the same week of July 23.

Commitment tightens with LGTBI rights

The rights of the LGTBI collective continue to be widely discussed in the political arena. Proof of this is that the Compromís group in the Alicante Provincial Assembly will present a proposal at its ordinary general meeting in July to prepare a corporate statement in defense of the collective’s rights. The session will be held on Thursday, not the usual first Wednesday of the month, because tomorrow the constitution of the Castellón State Council will be made and there will be a representation of the Alicante state institution at that event. As a result, we will have to wait for a response from the government team from today until Thursday and it cannot be ruled out that a corporate statement will eventually be read.

The Left had already put a lot of pressure on the Valencia Community last week with the LGTBI flag and Pride Day on Wednesday, the 28th, following the government pact reached by PP and Vox and the position shown by the far-right formation. against this backdrop, they displayed two large rainbow-colored flags at the entrance to the State Palace, an institution headed by the popular Carlos Mazón, who will be the future Council president.

Mazón has stated himself that “under no circumstances” will there be a backlash on LGTBI issues in the Community of Valencia. When the people’s leader was asked about the intentions of the future Council and ultras that he would share with Vox, he gave a stern reply, pointing out that there is no turning back on the rights and freedoms gained in the autonomous region.
