Kremlin propaganda indicated that it was Vladimir Putin’s “personal” decisions that halted the Wagnerian uprising, Stanisław Żaryn, government plenipotentiary for information space security of the Republic of Poland, told PAP on Saturday, declaring the events of the past week.
According to the deputy minister’s secret services coordinator, Russian propaganda used messages about “Evgeny Prigozhin’s rebellion” to amplify the message in defense of Vladimir Putin, who was presented as a “wise leader”. Moscow’s disinformation message used these events to reinforce the image of “Russia under threat,” he added.
The propaganda message indicated that it was Putin’s “personal” decisions that stopped the chaos and did not allow “Russian bloodshed”, and criticism of the Wagnerites’ actions focused on Prigozhin himself.
– said the Secretary of State in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery in an interview with PAP.
He added that the content of the Kremlin’s messages was simultaneously aimed at an attempt to cut itself off from Prigozhin – which is the purpose of labeling him a “traitor” among other things.
As a result, Russia’s information activities are intended to facilitate the implementation of activities by the Wagnerians, from whom Russia will publicly distance itself
– explained the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery.
Żaryn noted that reports of the transfer of Wagner drivers to Belarus were also used by Russian propaganda for further attacks on Poland.
The outreach activities include: an attempt to demonstrate that Prigozhin’s presence strengthens Belarus’ defense potential in relation to the perceived threats from our side
the rep told PAP.
Attempted harassment
He noted that at the same time, the same announcement of the Wagner movement to Belarus was used by the Kremlin’s propaganda to push messages aimed at intimidating us.
Some comments suggested that if the Wagner group did something against Poles and Poles, it would be a “payback” for Poland’s aggression against Belarus and Russia
he stressed.
Żaryn said that Belarusian propaganda also continues actions aimed at Poland’s image.
For this he uses accusations of causing a humanitarian crisis in the border area and hostile intentions towards Belarus
he pointed it out.
The Belarusian security apparatus is also increasing the intensity of migratory pressure on Poland, constantly looking for new ways to transport migrants to Belarus, Żaryn added in an interview with PAP.
He noted that the Russian and Belarusian propaganda uses the so-called nuclear wire to put pressure on Poland and other Western countries – the goal is to force submission to Russia.
Russia also continues information activities aimed at strengthening the message about Poland’s alleged “Russophobia” and the threats Poland poses to its allies. Attempts to revive relations between Poland and Ukraine are still visible. For this, among others. messages on topics related to agriculture, which is expected to lead to social tensions
— pointed to the Government’s Plenipotentiary for Information Space Security of the Republic of Poland.
