On the occasion of the ceremony associated with the opening of the road tunnel under Świna in Świnoujście, which connects the two parts of the city, it is worth recalling what Donald Tusk said about this investment a few years ago, when he is still Prime Minister of the Polish government.
What did Tusk say in 2010?
In 2010, Tusk argued that construction of the tunnel under Świna is “beyond our capabilities”.
I must honestly say that this investment of over a billion is an investment today, in this time of financial crisis, where we are looking for savings and it is beyond our capabilities
said the then prime minister.
There will be a tunnel in Świnoujście. We are not postponing this advertising act, but it will certainly take some time before this investment starts
he said.
It is always unpleasant for the local community when a decision has to be delayed for a few months or more, but I will honestly say that the current financial situation in Poland makes it impossible for us to make a decision
he explained.
End of the days of “amateurs and cheaters”
The words of the current Civic Platform leader were recalled on Twitter by Rafał Bochenek, PiS spokesperson.
Fortunately, the time of political amateurs and scammers is a thing of the past
Bochenek wrote.
The former Prime Minister’s statement was also recalled by the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Marek Pęk.
