First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Deputy of United Russia Vladimir Burmatov prepared a bill amending the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation that domestic and wild animals will be taken from their owners for cruel treatment. It has been reported “News”.
“First of all, it is necessary to bring the confiscation of wild animals,” said the deputy.
According to Burmatov, the ban on living at home today is directly included in the legislation, but the confiscation mechanism has not yet been provided.
“Keeping such animals in apartments is in itself cruel to them as they cannot live in such conditions,” he explained.
According to the publication, currently in the Russian Federation there is a fine of up to 80 thousand rubles, up to three years in prison for cruelty to pets. However, after that, the animal remains with the owner.
According to experts, such unscrupulous Russians should be banned for a long time from breeding animals.
Former State Duma accepted in the second and third readings of a bill on fines for abandoned pets.
