“This is no longer a beer fest with Sławomir Mentzen, but a serious threat to Polish patients,” Health Minister Adam Niedzielski stressed, pointing to the idea of the Confederation, a health voucher.
Confederation Health Voucher
The health voucher proposed by the Confederation is intended to remove the monopoly from the National Health Fund, and each citizen would decide for himself where he wants to be insured. In the program we read that “every insurer will be required to give patients access to a basket of guaranteed benefits (defined by law).
The assumption is that “insurers will compete for patients, eg extra benefits beyond the guaranteed basket or the quality of customer service”. A citizen will be able to sign up with one insurer of their choice, which “no one can refuse to sign up”.
The value of such a voucher is PLN 4,340. In an interview with Polsat News, Konrad Berkowicz, when asked about patients whose treatment exceeds this amount, replied that “everyone is the blacksmith of his own destiny.”

The Minister of Health responds
Health Minister Adam Niedzielski responded to Berkowicz’s arguments. He stressed that the Confederation’s health voucher poses a serious threat to Polish patients.
We already know that @KONFEDERACJA_ excludes the treatment of oncological diseases – the average cost per patient at 2.21 million is PLN 7.1 thousand per year. And children with rare diseases – should they pay for themselves? This is no longer a beer game with @SlawomirMentzen, but a serious threat to Polish patients
– Adam Niedzielski pointed out in a Twitter post.
