“The referendum is an obligation for every government,” stressed Maciej Pawlicki in Salon Dziennikarski, responding to the idea of the president of Law and Justice regarding a referendum on accepting illegal migrants in Poland.
Referendum on migrants
Maciej Pawlicki also – as he pointed out – shared a controversial thesis.
I feel that what is happening, what Deputy Prime Minister Kaczyński called brutality, the massive escalation of EU demands, is a much more serious problem. For the West, the problem is that there is order in Poland, there is no element of fear, no such dramatic situations. If there is such a level of security in Poland as in Sweden or France that a woman cannot go out alone at night, that will radically reduce support for the authorities
– said Maciej Pawlicki.
I have the dangerous impression that this escalation on Germany’s part is part of the US’s agreement for Germany to clean up Europe – in exchange for a change of attitude towards Ukraine, to clean up Eastern Europe. These problems span many areas. In my opinion, this referendum should not only cover the relocation mechanism, but part of the 11 areas announced by Reynders into which the EU will enter. It is not only about forests, but also about safety, health and culture. It’s a loss of independence. This referendum should oblige the future government to radically define the powers of the Polish government in areas such as health and cultural security
added the director.
Polish migration model
Bogumił Łoziński, in turn, admitted that he had doubts about the referendum.
Our position is very clear. Regardless of what the government does, what we say, the EU will not take it into account, as it has not done so far. We will hold a referendum, we will refer to the Constitution, and they will refer to the CJEU ruling that European law is above Polish law and the Constitution
explained the publicist.
Łoziński added that attention should be paid to the Polish migration model.
It is true that the Polish government has deliberately opened its borders to economic migrants since 2016. We have a big demographic problem, we need people to work. Work visas were issued for Muslim countries under PiS rule. This means they have the right to come and be here, but they still need some documents. These are not people who come for benefits. Last year, 136,000 were issued. work visas – this is a large group. They come for contracts, they work. They assimilate or they get back together. It’s a very different model of accepting immigrants
– said the publicist, adding that the Western model of migrants are social migrants.
We accepted refugees from Ukraine, we opened our hearts, it gave us the strength that we are good people, it made us immune to blackmail, to blackmail. There is a very good atmosphere for foreigners in Polish society. We live together and there are no conflicts. People have come who don’t want to destroy us, they want to work, some want to wish well and accept the situation. We must show Europe that we have our own Polish model
continued Lozinski. The columnist also pointed out that “the referendum will give a great mandate, but in the EU it won’t matter”.
I am afraid that this Polish peace model will not arouse anti-immigrant feelings, that what we have will not be broken down. There are radical individuals in society
– added.
Piotr Semka drew attention to the fact that the problem can arise when power is taken over by a “coalition with a large part of the left” – then the same as in the West begins. The publicist also added that it is only 16 percent. migrants manage to be sent back to their country, so the EU is looking for third countries.
This is EU bullying, it will end badly
Sam pointed it out.
