Data showing that more than 130,000 people came to Poland. of migrants from Muslim countries are false; the actual number of people from these countries who have been issued visas entitling them to enter is many times lower – deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, Bartosz Grodecki, said on Friday.
Tusk throws accusations
On Thursday, PO chief Donald Tusk said PiS had brought 50 times more migrants from Muslim countries to Poland “than in the last year of PO rule”.
I accuse you, Mr. Kaczyński and Mr. Morawiecki, of complete negligence, of the collapse of migration policy in Poland. You will be accountable for how you give up power, and you will return it in the fall
– added.
He said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki should be asked who is coming to Poland, how many migrants.
I’m talking about the data from the official PiS government statistics: 135,000. allowed with a visa to Poland only from Muslim countries in 2022
Tusk said. He added that from Bangladesh alone, the rulers brought in five times more migrants throughout the year than the PO-PSL government from all of these countries.
The deputy head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration responds to Tusk
A press conference was held at PiS headquarters on Friday, at which the deputy head of the Ministry of the Interior and Public Administration referred to the data on immigrants from Muslim countries, which he spoke about, among other things. Donald Tusk. A graph was presented showing the number of work permits for foreigners in Poland, it is more than 130,000 in total. people from countries like Uzbekistan, Turkey, Bangladesh, Turkmenistan and Indonesia.
The deputy head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration pointed out that this figure is being misinterpreted in relation to migrants, “leading to wrong conclusions”. The point is that the work permit alone does not entitle you to enter and reside in Poland. Grodecki argued that the actual number of people who have entered Poland in a safe, verified manner and obtained a visa entitling them to temporarily enter Poland is many times lower.
The number is incorrect (…) 133,000. – it seems that this number was given – last year the submission of citizens of (Muslim) countries
said Grodecki. For example, as he said, more than 33,000 people did not enter Poland. residents of Uzbekistan, because entry permits, ie work visas, for citizens of this country were issued seven times less.
He explained that the number of visas issued in 2022 is a response to the needs of the Polish labor market, mainly agriculture.
“There is no automatic release”
PiS MEP Patryk Jaki also noted that Tusk was talking about more than 130,000. migrants from Muslim countries are accepted, and – as the MEP stressed – there is “a fundamental difference between the application submitted and its treatment”.
He also accused the head of the PO of “repeating lies and manipulation” in relation to the forced displacement of refugees. Jaki said the claim that there is no relocation problem and that Poland will be exempted from the “coercive mechanism” is not true. According to him, there is “no such thing in the EU regulation”. He added that there is only “one path by which to apply for certain exemptions”.
There is no automatic release
said Jake.
He also accused Tusk of “taking responsibility for the first mechanism related to the forced displacement of refugees” when he was president of the European Council. According to him, many refugees were screened incorrectly and later committed crimes.

In the first half of June, EU countries took a position to negotiate the migration and asylum package with the European Parliament – against the objections of Poland and Hungary. The position does not speak of mandatory relocation but of “mandatory solidarity”. It means that while “no Member State will ever be obliged to relocate”, “an annual minimum number of relocations will be set from the Member States from which most people enter the EU to Member States less exposed to such arrivals”.
Countries critical of this proposal indicate that giving up relocation will mean a financial equivalent of PLN 20,000. euros per person, which can in fact be seen as a financial penalty.
Last week, the Sejm passed a resolution expressing opposition to the EU’s mechanism for the relocation of illegal migrants, which commits the government to vigorously oppose the proposal. According to information from the PAP, Poland will raise these issues at the EU summit in June.
The issue of relocation of migrants in the European Union will also be the subject of a nationwide referendum, which was announced in the Sejm by the Deputy Prime Minister, PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński.
