The White House appreciates the consultations of the five UN Security Councils on nuclear issues in Cairo

White House National Security Council (NSC) Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby, at a briefing, appreciated the consultations of the nuclear quintet (Russia, China, USA, UK and France) that took place in Cairo on 13-14 June. It has been reported TASS.

A White House spokesperson described this as a long-running “routine” dialogue.

“This time we acted only as president. Everything was at working level,” Kirby said.

He recommended contacting the US State Department for details.

The White House spokesperson also noted that these consultations are “a good opportunity for dialogue on nuclear security protocols and procedures.”

“This was not a working-level dialogue, the prelude to broader negotiations on any agreement,” he added.
