UN Assistant Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo said the organization called for the removal of all obstacles to extending the grain deal. He announced this at the UN Security Council meeting, reports Reuters.
According to him, food exports through maritime humanitarian corridors decreased.
“The UN is fully committed to supporting the implementation of the memorandum of understanding on Russian food and fertilizer exports,” he said.
Former Ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva statedRussia will withdraw from the grain agreement.
He noted that he was “99.9% sure” of this result. Trofimtseva said that opening the terminal for ammonia exports in Taman will reduce the importance of the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline, which will help Russia withdraw from the agreement.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the UN cannot affect the fulfillment of obligations to Russia under the grain agreement.
