In an interview with the Chief of Staff of Law and Justice, which publishes the weekly “Sieci”, some very important statements are made. OF Tomasz Poręba they were talking Jacek and Michal Karnowscy.
Here are five key statements from the point of view of political analysis Tomasz Poręba fall in the interview.
1. Election marches don’t win
Such meetings are important in politics, but election marches alone do not win. Without a credible, detailed program offering, it is an empty slogan. They also know, they are aware that they are not going to build the program anymore. That is why they see the only chance in unleashing emotions, in starting a kind of cold civil war. Street and abroad – that’s all that’s left.
We have another line. There will be thousands more meetings in the field. We go to the people, we are among the people, where they live and work. It was President Jarosław Kaczyński who inaugurated the “Route of the preserved word”. There will be more such actions, full mobilization and activity in the field until the last day before the elections. Our slogan at this stage of the campaign is “The future is Poland”.
The main thing is not to be provoked, to get carried away in dirty games. We have to do our job, don’t look at anyone, don’t play on their field. We have our own program, our own plan, a good idea for this campaign. Sticking to this is the basic condition for victory.
2. The program matters
The negative narrative about Ula’s proposal was inspired from the start by our detractors in the media, who basically confirmed that our proposals were correct.
People were inundated with polls that reportedly no one likes it, no one wants it. But if so, why was Donald Tusk trying to bid on the 800 Plus launch date?
The chaotic, nervous reaction of our opponents showed how much Kaczyński’s Specifics lived up to the expectations of the Poles. I’m not surprised, because they are the result of our conversation with Poland. Anyone who has been involved in politics for a long time also knows that such proposals also take time. People get to know the details, they talk about it in their families. Today, our investigation shows it was a hit. People also see it in the context of our well-known social programs, they know that if we announce something, we will do it. In the case of 800plus, the context of put inflation is also important, the effects of which will certainly be partly offset by this valorisation.
3. Beat the polls
Clearly, we are witnessing an operation to chip away at our support in the polls. We have a strong 40 percent and above in our internal research.
I don’t believe these polls [które dają PiS 31-32 procent]. Not because they are bad for us, but because the experience of previous campaigns shows that there is little point in paying attention to them. There are more political dreams than research reliability. According to these studies, Law and Justice would lose all elections after 2015 and President Andrzej Duda never had the chance to be elected and then re-elected. Earlier, the polls didn’t give much chance too late. Lech Kaczyński, and he won with Tusk in the reins.
I would also like to remind you that in 2018 we lost the local government elections, even according to exit polls of those who left the polls. We would have power in one or two meetings, but we ended up with eight. In 2019, in the campaign for the European elections, the opposition would have had an eight-point lead in the same polls – in the end we won them decisively.
We survived the winter. By carrying out the coal operation, we again proved the efficiency of the state by introducing anti-inflation and energy shields, we showed concern for the Poles. Back then we had about 35 percent support in our internal polls, now we have a strong 40 percent and more. But of course, many other factors overlapped with this, such as a fall in inflation, which should be in single digits by the end of the year. Investments are growing, unemployment is still at historically low levels, according to OECD data, we are currently the fastest growing country in this group.
Nobody says it’s perfect. These are unstable, difficult times with powerful crises coming from outside, such as pandemic, war. But we think this is a temporary drop and there will be a recovery soon, especially as prices stabilize. Despite the problems, economic efficiency, a radical increase in living standards compared to the Tusk era, remains the hallmark of Law and Justice.
4. Opponents will stop at nothing
This will be the hardest, most brutal election campaign since 1989 – because the stakes are the highest. The fight is for the future, for the sovereignty and development of our homeland. Either the camp of President Jarosław Kaczyński will continue to rule and the direction of building a prosperous, economically and militarily strong, ambitious and self-confident Poland will continue, or the pre-2015 situation will return. . We are under no illusions: our political opponents will stop at nothing.
There is a part of the company that will try to support the PO. For a simple reason: under Tusk, work was dirt cheap, employees didn’t count, taxes could also be tampered with. Fuel and VAT mafia have lost billions, they also want the return of golden times.
The second source of such dubious money will be European institutions funding various organizations supposed to subliminally support the opposition.
The third – opposition media, televisions, portals, newspapers, powerful, rich, aggressive, increasingly opposition personnel. The enemy is therefore dangerous and should not be underestimated. But it’s not like that since today, because if we were just fighting the opposition parties, I’d be completely calm about the outcome. Unfortunately, our main adversary today is a very extensive media front, led by TVN and foreign portals, often spreading a very false narrative about what is happening in Poland, which will stop at nothing to bring about a change of power.
5. Plan for the holidays and fall
January and February were mainly dominated by Donald Tusk’s policies, especially relations with Russia and Germany. At the time, we asked Tusk ten questions, which he still cannot answer, although they concern fundamental issues such as the cancellation of a debt of more than one billion zlotys owed to Gazprom, the gas deal that makes Poland dependent, the construction of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. , and the blocking of the Baltic Pipe, the plan to sell the Mazeikiu and Lotos refineries to the Russians, underfunding and dissolution of the Polish army, especially in the east, leaving the Smolensk research in the hands of the Russians.
The next step was a nice conversation with our compatriots, we spread all over the country, it was a huge undertaking. All voices, emotions, complaints, praise and expectations were collected and carefully analyzed. The final was May’s Program Hive, a highly successful substantive convention, concluded with three Kaczyński’s Concrets.
We will successively discover more cards of our program, equally strong and meeting the expectations of society. Another big event will take place at the end of June. We want to show even more strongly that we are ready for a third term, we want to win this election.
I think the opposition can still unite. There are big moves, calculations, twists and volts. There are increasing signs that this may be the case. This is not surprising, because since they have no program in common, nothing stops them, everything is just calculation. The result is further eroding credibility in the eyes of distasteful voters. I increasingly hear the opinion that if the opposition won, we would be faced with monstrous chaos.
All surveys show that apart from the circle of absolute believers, Poles consider Tusk an untrustworthy politician, while Law and Justice is very credible even in the eyes of reluctant voters. With his sudden turn for the worse, having previously challenged Polish families using 500 Plus from non-working drunks, talking about giving away and suddenly starting to promise a raise, Tusk caused massive confusion in his ranks. His voters are shaking, confused, they feel humiliated because they believed in past propaganda that social programs are bad. This image from the research comes to my mind when we ask PO supporters what they think of it. They replied angrily, “Come on, please, don’t ask.” This is a sore subject for them, they feel cheated by Tusk. They begin to wonder among themselves if the accusations that he is a fraud are not true.
In a way, this campaign is quite simple: we need to mobilize as many of our voters as possible while also demobilizing the voters of competing parties. From this point of view, the more Donald Tusk, the better for us. He is also highly distrusted by voters of other parties.
