The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned Ukraine for the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. Agency reports TO YOU.

“Syria condemns in the strongest possible terms the destruction of the dam by the Kiev regime, which caused extensive damage and flooding of large areas,” the message said.

Previously reportedWorld Bank (WB) Managing Director of Operations, Anna Bjerde, said the World Bank will assess the damage from the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HEPP dam. According to him, the World Bank will support Ukraine by making a clear assessment of the consequences of the incident.

Earlier on the night of June 6, 2023, the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station on the Dnieper occurred. More than 14 thousand houses were flooded in 15 settlements in the Kherson region. There were five cemeteries underwater, a cattle cemetery, a hospital, and a kindergarten. A total of 4,280 people were evacuated, including more than 170 children and 42 people with reduced mobility.
