It has nothing to do with political views, worldview, assumed value system, and even paradoxically the assessment of the United Right government. When the opposition is enthusiastic about the regime, the dictatorship in Poland, about the lack of freedom of expression, about imitating Putin or Lukashenka, about totalitarian rule, it shows only the state of its own mental suffocation, blindness, the level of bile that flooded all receptors. We have ample evidence that these are hallucinations or simple lies designed only to warm up the mood, emotionally swing our community, according to the divide and conquer principle. Daily observations, common sense and lack of fanatical augmentation are enough for us. Further evidence, both described and quantified, is provided by the recently published results of the Eurobarometer – large cross-sectional surveys conducted twice a year by the European Commission.
In this episode we show how Poles will judge the problems in Poland – the state of democracy and economy against the background of other European nations.
There are two main conclusions: the opposition raves, lies and the Poles think they are doing a pretty good job.
When asked if things are moving in the right direction in your country, only 22% say yes. Poles answered yes and a whopping 61 percent said it was bad. This poor result puts us in the lower average states – citizens of 8 countries including Spain, Greece and Slovenia rate the situation worse. France. In the latter country, the forecasts are the gloomiest in the whole Union.
Are you satisfied with what the government is doing to limit the rise in the cost of living? Are you satisfied with how the government is fighting inflation?. “Yes” answered 47 percent. Poland, and “no” 51 percent. With this result we belong to the absolute top. Before us are only the 3 richest EU countries (GDP per capita) – Luxembourg, Ireland and Denmark. The rest, including Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, are behind us. The result was below the EU average in Spain, Sweden and France, among others.
Has your standard of living dropped as a result of the crisis and do you expect this to happen within a year? “Yes” answered 47 percent. Poland and again this result is better than the EU average. As many as 76 percent Cypriots, French, 66 percent. Spaniards, 63 percent of the French claim their standard of living has fallen. In 14 EU countries there is a higher percentage than in Poland who claim that their standard of living has deteriorated.
51% of Poles claim that the country’s economic situation will deteriorate in the coming year. This is again much better than the EU average. In no fewer than 17 countries, the percentage of economic pessimists is higher than in Poland. The pyre is closed by the Slovaks.
We are also a society that has been one of the least impacted by the crisis. The benchmark is the ability to pay current bills. 74 percent of Poles say there are no problems with it and there are only the rich like – Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany. The EU average is 63 percent. Only 15 percent of Greeks do not have constant monthly payment problems.
Are you satisfied with the state of democracy in your country? 53 percent of Poles say “yes” and 47 percent say “no”. Perhaps this result is an election prediction. Anyway, we are almost exactly in the middle of the pack and the French, Spaniards and others traditionally rate their democracy worse. Greeks or Croats.
Does your vote count/do in your country? “Yes” answered 63 percent. Poland, and 32 percent say “no”, which puts us well above the EU average – in 10th place and ahead of countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Baltic States, Greece, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
None of the results in the Barometer confirm the apocalyptic ravings of the opposition. Poles do not see the regime, the raging dictatorship in their country. On the contrary, compared to the citizens of many other EU countries, we are much more satisfied with the state of democracy in our own country than they are. However, one should not expect the opposition or the Eurocrats from Brussels who want to elect our government to be impressed by this. The opposition will continue to report and the EU will impose penalties for everything.
It is similar to the economy, the Poles do not share the black visions propagated by the total opposition. If her fantasies had anything to do with reality, we shouldn’t really be living. It would be like jokes about Latvian peasants: hallucinations of death and malnutrition are everywhere.
