Increase education spending to 6% of GDP. PKB is based on the Future+ project – the first legislative initiative of the Third Way, presented on Wednesday by the leader of Poland 2050 Szymon Hołownia and the vice president of PSL Dariusz Klimczak. “Future+ is a school that millions of Polish families are waiting for,” they said.
The first legislative initiative of the Third Way
At Wednesday’s press conference, Poland 2050 leader Szymon Hołownia and PSL Vice President Dariusz Klimczak presented the first of a series of Third Way legislative initiatives, which are the implementation of program postulates developed by Poland 2050 and PSL as part of the “joint list of problems” to be addressed.
Hołownia said that the first of the initiatives presented is a bill on education called Future+. The proposed solution assumes an increase in education expenditure to 6% of GDP. GDP.
We called this bill Future+, because the essence is real, not fictional, pre-election plus: PLN 35 billion to increase spending on education
– said the leader of Poland 2050.
If we think about Poland from the perspective of generations, we have to invest in the future. 6 percent GDP for education
he said.
Hołownia: “Future+ is a school that millions of Polish families are waiting for”
Future+ will provide a real future, real development, it will be an investment in the Polish school so that it can finally enter the perspective of 2050, the 21st century
he explained.
Future+ is a school that millions of Polish families are waiting for
he assured.
Hołownia: “If there is money for 800+ – we say how to spend it. They should not be given away”
If there are tens of billions in the state budget for indexation from PLN 500 plus to PLN 800 (…), we say how to spend them
he said. He argued that money in Poland should not be given away to “everyone as it comes” but should be invested where it is needed.
Hołownia argued that the presented project is a real investment in the future of Poland, because the money will be spent in places where our children learn.
When we think of Poland from the perspective of the next generations, we must invest in the future, in our children, today
he argued.
The promise of 5 hours of English, a psychologist and hot school lunches and… teachers in schools
Leader of Poland 2050 thanks to 6 percent. of GDP is spent on education, children can receive 5 hours of English lessons per week. He added that this money also means a psychologist at every school and a hot meal at school for every child.
Future+ is a tool that can uncork the budgets of Polish families who nowadays spend a lot of money on tutoring
he stressed.
He added that the most important thing is that schools have teachers.
We need money for teachers to stay in the profession, for them to want to stay in it, for another wonderful public service profession, for the state to take care of teachers
he said.
Invitation to consult the project
Education is not a left or right issue because we all have children and we want a good future for them, we all want the development of our country
– he said. That is why, as he said, The Third Way has sent out invitations to all parliamentary groups to consult the Future+ project, so that the project will be submitted to the Sejm next week.
The PSL vice-president stressed that Poland’s future is children and education at the highest European level, available to every child, both those living in a large agglomeration and those from a small village.
Unfortunately, underfunding is now a chronic disease of the Polish education system. A disease that generates further disabilities with consequences. Today, parents, students and, unfortunately, teachers often flee from a public school to a private school that offers more foreign language classes and extracurricular activities
– he said.
According to him, everything now leads to schools being divided into institutions for the poor and for the rich.
We cannot allow the wallet to become the criterion for acquiring knowledge. That is why the Polish education system must be subsidised
he appealed.
