PiS leader and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited Huta Stalowa Wola where an agreement between the government and NSZZ “Solidarity” was signed. It was signed by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the chairman of NSZZ “Solidarity” Piotr Duda.
During his speech, the PiS leader pointed out that Solidarity was the most important experience of his generation and that Stalowa Wola was one of Solidarity’s strongholds.
He also thanked the event organizers for inviting “at this special moment, at this moment when – you could say – it is possible to solve difficult problems that at some point had to be addressed”.
I am talking about the government’s side in talks with Solidarity
he pointed it out.
As he noted, these conversations produced results, although they weren’t easy.
They produced an effect that refers to those memorable, great events of August 1980, because they opened the way to what was written between these 21 points, namely, internship pensions
he said.
This is not an easy road, but it is open and I want to make it clear: it is difficult, but very important for Polish workers, for Poland
– added the head of PiS.

“Bad power serving foreigners can lead to partial or complete loss of sovereignty”
The rebellion of working people and their courage led us down a winding, bumpy path to regaining independence, democracy and regaining sovereignty, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said. Let us be aware that the evil force serving foreigners can lead to a partial or complete loss of sovereignty, he stressed.
The head of government stressed that “it was the rebellion of working people, the courage of working people that led us down the winding, bumpy path to regaining independence, democracy and regaining sovereignty.”
Today we live in such a special time, perhaps a breakthrough time, a time when we have to remember the importance, the value of this word, the idea of sovereignty, because we have to realize that – although in the past usually a country deprived another of its sovereignty by conquest – today may be different
said the prime minister.
Today, this phenomenon is more difficult to recognize, but it has a characteristic feature in a certain trend to influence one country on another. Well, today this conquest, which accompanied history in the past, can take place through the conquest of elites
said Morawiecki.
For example, as he noted, at the time of the People’s Republic of Poland, the entire communist elite was on the line from Moscow.
Historic agreement
The agreement between NSZZ “Solidarity” and the government is historic. A bill on the termination of the bridging pension will be published shortly. Employees working in particularly difficult conditions will take early retirement, said the chairman of NSZZ “Solidarność”, Piotr Duda.
He admitted that “these were difficult conversations”.
This agreement confirms to me in one thing that dialogue works in this country, only this dialogue must be desired. This is often a difficult compromise
Duda said.
He noted that “one of the main postulates being negotiated was a bill which, he noted, he hoped would go to parliament as soon as possible to halt the phasing out of the bridging pension process.” As Duda emphasized, “this is a historical postulate.”
As he noted: “Mr. Lech Kaczyński would be proud of us today for returning to this postulate and with this decision, this signing and the whole legislative process in the Sejm, we will ensure that workers who work hard in hard, special jobs, like here in Huta Stalowa Wola – will be able to take early bridging retirement,’ said Duda.
