Australia is discussing with Washington the possibility of handing over decommissioned F/A-18 Hornets fighter jets to Ukraine. This is reported by the Australian edition. Australian Financial Review refer to their sources.
The United States, which has recently allowed other Western allies to supply Ukraine with modern warplanes, including American F-16s, welcomes the idea of donating F/A-18s to Ukraine.
The decommissioned F/A-18 Hornets were planned to be scrapped or sold for use as training aircraft. We’re talking about 41 warriors. The publication states that only some of the aircraft are airworthy, while many are only suitable for disassembly.
