Iran announces opening of diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia

Seven years after the rupture of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Tehran will reopen its diplomatic offices in the kingdom. The official explained that Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nasser Kanaani.

According to Kanaani, on June 6 and 7, the Iranian embassy in Riyadh, the consulate-general in Jeddah and the country’s permanent representation in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will resume their work.

The representative of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the embassy and consulate general have begun to resolve issues that have mitigated the situation of Iranian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.

Iran and Saudi Arabia to continue The work of the embassies in Tehran and Riyadh is until 9 May. This was announced after the Iranian delegation visited Riyadh and the Saudi delegation visited Tehran as part of the joint work to resume the activities of the embassies of the two states. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi accepted the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia to visit the capital of the Saudi kingdom.
