The opposition’s Sunday march lacked ideological proposals. No antidote was presented to voters, Kukiz’15 leader Paweł Kukiz told PAP. He called the formation of Donald Tusk “a political option that failed to deliver on its main promises, and even did everything the opposite”.
On the anniversary of the partially free elections in 1989, an opposition march was organized in Warsaw by the Civic Platform and its leader, Donald Tusk.
My main reflection after this march is that I was also as euphoric as some of the people who took part in this event, when I discovered in 2005 that almost a million signatures had been collected on the initiative of the 4XTAK platform, ie for the introduction of constituencies with one member, abolition of the Senate, abolishing immunities and halving the number of delegates
said Kukiz.
It wasn’t until the Civic Platform won the election that they immediately grounded these signatures and I was concerned that this scenario could now become a reality, that they won’t be so much signing signatures as hope
he assessed.
Kukiz accused Donald Tusk’s milieu of opposing pro-citizen posts in the Sejm about lowering voter turnout in local referenda and about justices of the peace.
Empty platform message
He admitted that he was concerned that the Sunday event participants, who were asked “why are you joining the march” by journalists, replied: “Because I want something to change”.
But people have no idea what will change
said Kukiz.
People are not saying that they want local referenda to be effective, that people have a say every day, that they can influence and control power, that an MP is loyal to the voter and not to the party that appointed him, ie all the postulates put forward by the Civic Platform in 2005, because this is the way to civilize political and social life in Poland and it is the only way not to replace the protagonists (on the political scene) every four or eight years change one time basis second time
said Kukiz.
According to the politician, during the march there were no ideological proposals and recipes that would respond to the criticism of the PiS government during the event.
We must offer the voters an antidote
– said the leader of Kukiz’15.
What made me an enemy of the Platform is (their) absolute resignation from 4XTAK, because around these four main postulates the Platform was built and after winning the election the signatures were ground – not symbolically, but physically destroyed
– he emphasized and called Tusk’s formation “a political option that did not fulfill its main promises, and even did everything the opposite”.
