“The government of Law and Justice keeps its promises! We are working to make our infrastructure look like in the richest countries in Europe,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki wrote on Facebook. The head of government stressed that free highways “for Polish drivers are another commitment that we want to implement as soon as possible “.
Promises of law and justice
The Prime Minister added an image to the entry, which shows in which countries of the European Union the use of motorways is paid, free and partially paid. The graph shows that the use of motorways is free in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Cyprus. Soon it will also be in Poland.
Partly toll roads are in Germany and Sweden. There, the driver of a passenger car can drive into some tunnels or bridges for a fee.
The government of Law and Justice keeps its promises! We are working to make our infrastructure look like in the richest European countries, and #Free Highways for Polish drivers is another commitment we want to implement as soon as possible
wrote the prime minister.
Free highways from July 1?
Infrastructure Minister Andrzej Adamczyk said a few days ago that highways may be free from July 1. It all depends on whether the Senate introduces amendments to the bill to abolish tolls on toll sections of state-owned highways.
From July 1, we travel for free on the A4 highway from Wrocław west towards Gliwice, which is a toll section of the highway managed by the state, as well as the A2 highway in Wielkopolska towards the western border of the state. And it will happen when – we hope – the Senate, accelerating its work, will analyze the bill that came out of the Sejm, let me remind you, which was voted by 93 percent. delegates vote. None of the opposition clubs, except the Confederacy, have tabled amendments. We hope that there will be no such amendments in the Senate, so that the Poles can run these two sections from July, paid so far
– said Adamczyk on Polsat News.
