Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said that the Joint Coordination Center (GCC) in Istanbul has resumed inspections of ships under the grain agreement. It has been reported TASS.
At the same time, Vershinin noted that Moscow is continuing UN consultations on the grain deal.
According to him, Russia does not yet see the possibility of extending the grain agreement. He noted that the terms of the agreement were determined not by Moscow, but by Kiev. He added that the issue of ammonia exports was also included in the agreement.
Nameni Palla, head of the communications department of the UN’s Black Sea initiative coordinator office, said that ship inspections under the grain agreement resumed on 4 June. A few days ago, the representative of UN Secretary-General Farhan Haq said that the signatories of the grain agreement could not reach an agreement on the inspection of ships under the initiative. According to him, there are 20 dry cargo ships in Ukrainian ports, four on the road and five at checkpoints. The grain agreement was signed in Istanbul on July 22, 2022 by delegations from the UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
