“If anyone thinks that such a march changes social attitudes, he is wrong. These marches are quite mobilizing in nature, Presidential Minister Andrzej Dera said on TVP 1.
On Sunday, a march organized by the PO and its leader Donald Tusk crossed Warsaw in protest against the current government. The march was attended by the leaders of the main opposition groups: PSL chairman Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, head of Poland 2050 Szymon Hołownia and New Left leader Włodzimierz Czarzasty.

“This is Donald Tusk’s style for me.
According to Dera, the march will not do much to convince indecisive voters to vote.
In a political sense, in the sense of convincing others, it is not of great importance. I think so, and the history of marches like this shows that it works that way
he said.
The minister added that “nothing extraordinary in terms of mechanisms was visible yesterday”.
I’m not saying the march didn’t make an impression, because a lot of people turned up, but these marches are organized in a certain way. Party structures should bring a certain number of people, so many coaches. (…) A classic of democracy. Nothing special in terms of mechanisms was visible yesterday
he stressed.
Referring to the vulgar and hateful banners and slogans that appeared during the march, he replied:
Donald Tusk, because he doesn’t have much to offer the Poles when it comes to the program, he’s working on emotions, and negative emotions at that, that hatred towards PiS is constantly lashed out and it showed on this march.
If there is nothing positive to see then the opposition environment must be integrated somewhere, this integrator is hate and they don’t hide it. He shows it all the time, talks about it and now talks about a certain unity of Poland when hatred is aroused, well this is Donald Tusk’s style for me
– added.
Referring to Donald Tusk’s speech, Dera said he looked at the Civic Platform chairman’s words through the prism of his party’s regime.
There was a long period of 7 years in which Donald Tusk decided the fate of Poland and those were disastrous years for Poland. He did what he didn’t say in the election campaign, he even did it contrary to what he said he wouldn’t do. All this happened at the expense of ordinary citizens
Dera recalled.

A guest from Marek Pyza pointed out that during the march other opposition party leaders were overshadowed by Tusk.
The slogan “there is no money and there will be none” summed up Donald Tusk’s 7-year reign, so in my opinion his credibility for what he would like to do is tenuous. In my opinion, the march (…) was paradoxically a mobilization point for the opposition, but at the same time a victory for Donald Tusk. Keep in mind that apart from Donald Tusk there were no prominent leaders, no wider opposition group
remarked the Prime Minister.
Request from the President to the Constitutional Tribunal
The 14-day deadline for submitting an application to the Constitutional Tribunal regarding the establishment of a commission to investigate Russian influence will be adhered to, Presidential Minister Andrzej Dera assured Monday on TVP 1.
Last Monday, May 29, President Andrzej Duda signed the law establishing a commission to investigate Russian influence on the internal security of the Republic of Poland in the years 2007-2022 and announced that he would refer it to the Constitutional Tribunal as a follow-up review. The law was published in the Journal of Laws on May 30 and took effect on May 31.
On Friday, June 2, the president announced the preparation of a draft amendment to this law, and on that day the draft was submitted to the Sejm. Andrzej Duda noted that his draft included a provision that parliamentarians could not sit on the committee for investigating Russian influence, and that the countermeasures provided for in the current law were abolished (including a ban on performing functions related to throwing away public funds for a period of up to 10 years), and the main subject of the commission’s findings will be the recognition that the person does not guarantee the proper performance of activities in the public interest; moreover, the decision of the committee will be appealed to the Court of Appeal in Warsaw.
When is the president’s request submitted to the Constitutional Court?
Andrzej Dera said on TVP 1 on Monday that the president signed the law last week and motivated his opinion, and – taking into account the doubts – referred the law to the Constitutional Tribunal as a follow-up.
When asked when the president’s request will appear at the Constitutional Tribunal, he replied that “there is a 14-day deadline”.
I can assure you that this deadline will be met. Such a request must be written very precisely, as it forms the basis for the assessment by the Constitutional Tribunal
– added.
Presidential draft amendment
He also stated that the president was preparing an amendment to the law to “bring about the allegations that the Constitutional Court would consider in the future, so that it would happen more quickly, because the parliament can pass this law and all the reservations at any time.” that have been publicly reported somewhere that someone does not like something are deleted in this amendment.
