“Cursing is an expression of anger and helplessness against the actions of this power. It is PiS that is the problem, not blasphemy,” Michał Szułdrzyński, deputy editor of “Rzeczpospolita”, wrote on Twitter.
The journalist from “Rzeczpospolita” shared with the public his observations about the vulgarization of the public debate in Poland. He confessed that he was annoyed and worried about the increasing use of unparliamentary language. Szułdrzyński’s opinion probably appeared in the context of the scandalous words of the actor Andrzej Seweryn, who demanded the use of force against politicians of the government camp, as well as the Twitter posts of Władysław Frasyniuk, which were held in a similar tone.
Absurd conclusions
I am annoyed by the growing presence of profanity in public spaces. But the right side, instead of being outraged, should think about what PiS did to the Poles that this happened. Cursing is an expression of anger and helplessness against the actions of this power. PiS is the problem, not blasphemy
– wrote Michał Szuldrzyński on Twitter
Of course, according to Szułdrzyński, the main culprits of the collapse of the Polish public debate are not all those who call for “the submission of Catholics” or formulate slogans under the sign of “eight stars”, but Law and Justice itself. Why? Because the rule of PiS provokes everyone who cannot stand Jarosław Kaczyński and his political party.
“The anger and helplessness of the opposition described by Szułdrzyński is therefore, according to him, a justified reason for increasingly brutal and vulgar attacks in public space. It’s like blaming the store owner for theft, who provoked theft by making his window too attractive.
This kind of shifting responsibility for mistakes that can be directly attributed to, say, celebrities who support the opposition shouldn’t be surprising on PiS. This is not an unprecedented situation. The only question that remains is where is the limit of the hatred that can go to those who justify all their misdeeds with the actions of the ruling party.
