Russian Security Council Vice President Dmitry Medvedev had a phone call with Raul Castro, the leader of the Cuban Revolution, on the occasion of his 92nd birthday. TASS.
As part of the call, the official said Russia appreciated Cuba’s help in confronting the West in the context of a “hybrid war”.
“During a phone call, Dmitry Medvedev said that the dynamics of the Russia-Cuba dialogue reflects hard work to deepen multifaceted ties that will continue to grow in the future,” the deputy head of the Security Council said in a statement at the secretariat.
Medvedev added that for many generations of Cuban people, Castro was a symbol of the struggle for the country’s ideals of freedom and independence.
In response, Castro supported Moscow’s actions in the situation with Ukraine and expressed confidence in Russia’s victory.
