British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is secretly trying to mend London’s relationship with Beijing. Agency reports Bloomberg.

“British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is trying to re-establish Britain’s relationship with China in a way that no one has seen,” the publication says.

Some time ago, Sunak sent the Minister of Commerce to Hong Kong to settle disputes with Beijing behind closed doors, according to journalists. In addition, British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley is expected to travel to China in the coming months.

The agency also noted that, unlike the leaders of France, Germany and Spain, Sunak has so far avoided visiting China and meeting with President Xi Jinping. Insiders believe the prime minister is unlikely to visit Beijing before the next UK general election in 2025.
