“Disputes and arguments over the best arguments are part of free science and our democracies – but in peaceful dialogue. Violence and slander are not part of it,” Thomas Bagger, the German ambassador to Poland, tweeted.
A lecture by Prof. Jan Grabowski under the provocative title “Polish (growing) problem with the history of the Holocaust”, which also includes Dr. Piotr Gontarczyk would be a debater.
The speech was canceled because MP Grzegorz Braun, as he called it “higher necessity”, destroyed the microphone and loudspeaker, disrupting the controversial debate.

Ambassador Thomas Bagger referred to the incident at the German Historical Institute on Twitter.

– wrote on Twitter the German ambassador to Poland, Thomas Bagger.
The grandiose words of Ambassador Bagger, who suddenly stands up for the right to a fair debate, are not reflected in the reality in which Germany rejects the possibility of a fair debate with Poland about reparations and Germany’s responsibility for the crimes of World War II.
