Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic accused the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo officials of wanting to occupy northern Kosovo and Metohija. Vucevich said this on the broadcast of a TV channel. RTS.
According to him, the security situation in the region is risky due to Pristina’s unilateral and illegal decisions.

The Minister recalled that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has repeatedly explained to the international community and the Serbian community that unilateral actions by Pristina could lead to the worst-case scenario. According to Vucevic, this has already happened, the actions of Albin Kurti, the prime minister of unrecognized Kosovo, leading to escalation, clashes and injuries to citizens.
On May 29, thousands of Kosovo Serbs gathered in front of local government buildings in the north of the province to demand the withdrawal of the police and the recall of Kosovo Albanian mayors. NATO troops were sent to the buildings of the municipalities of KFOR, Zvechan, Leposavich and Zubin Potok. A large Kosovo police force followed, keeping Kosovo Serbs out of the buildings. At around 17:00 (18:00 Moscow time), clashes broke out between the citizens and the security forces.
On May 30, Kosovo Serbs again gathered in front of the town halls.
