On Sunday, Health Minister Adam Niedzielski presented a check for nearly PLN 90 million to Sanitation Superintendent Krzysztof Saczka. The head of the Ministry of Health indicated that these funds will be used for the adaptation and modernization of sanepids in Poland at the poviat level.
On Sunday, the health minister visited the district stadium in Piła, where residents can undergo free medical tests as part of the Mobile Health Zone. As he said, this initiative “apart from offering services in the form of the possibility of self-examination, aims to convince all of us, all Poles, to change our lifestyle, so that our health capital that we build up throughout our lives can benefit from a good basis, good the basis for a long life in comfort.
Prevention is key. It is worth repeating every time that if we think about the whole of this health capital, more than two-thirds depend on how we eat, whether we lead an active lifestyle or whether we check ourselves regularly – especially in the early stages of diseases to track them down. And this city, traveling through several provincial towns, gives residents the opportunity to become interested in changing their lifestyle, but also to conduct this fundamental research
– added.
Niedzielski said the purpose of his visit on Sunday is also “to build a healthcare system prepared for further health crises”.
A check for almost PLN 90 million
During the press conference, the minister presented to the Chief Inspector of Sanitation Krzysztof Saczka a check for PLN 86.4 million – as he said – “under EU funds, which are intended to build this resilience of healthcare systems.” The minister pointed out that “these funds will be used for the adaptation and modernization of sanepids in Poland at this poviat level”.
He added that this is the next step when it comes to “the civilization of the sanepids”.
Unfortunately, we faced such a situation that when the pandemic hit, it turned out that the sanepids are not automated enough, they do not have the proper infrastructure in the form of computers and laptops that can be used in the field. This process, which started very dynamically in 2020, is currently entering a new phase
he assured.
“The sanitary inspection faced a huge challenge”
Superintendent Krzysztof Saczka stressed that “at the beginning of the pandemic, the sanitary inspection faced a huge challenge due to the pandemic for this organization.”
Employees were faced with a wide variety of tasks for which they did not have much support in the form of hardware or systems. Therefore, we have tried to do as much as possible to improve this work, improve the working conditions of employees, equip laboratories, introduce new equipment
he said.
With this money we can make many improvements and purchase modern equipment for laboratories. During the pandemic, we also started building our IT system, the registration system of the State Health Inspectorate, which of course focused on epidemic activities in the first phase
– he said.
We are trying to modernize, modernize, change the face of sanitary inspection
he stressed.
