The subject of Saturday’s PiS Academy, Krzysztof Szczucki, head of the Academy, informed PAP, were matters related to the European Union.
The first lecture was given by MEP Anna Zalewska, who spoke about the Fit for 55 package. She presented, according to Szczucki, the origin and context of this package, and also mentioned that it was not true that the Polish government expressed any approval for this package.
She said that the following elements are being prepared by the European Commission together with the European Parliament, and that the European Council, in which the Prime Minister participates, has not taken binding decisions on them.
said Szczucki.
The second lecture was delivered by the Minister of the European Union, Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, and focused on Poland’s relations with the EU, with a particular emphasis on, as Szczucki noted, “Poland’s growing position in the context of the Eastern policy”. Szynkowski vel Sęk also spoke, the head of the Academy added, about the problems arising from the European Commission’s misinterpretation of the treaties.
The third lecturer was Prof. Genowefa Grabowska, who spoke about the sources of law – Polish and EU.
She emphasized the primacy of the Polish constitution over European law
Szczucki told PAP.
The PiS Academy is aimed at party parliamentarians, representatives of the PiS Youth Forum and local government officials.
The lectures within the framework of the PiS Academy are grouped into three blocks: “Where do we come from?”, “Where are we going?” and the third, regarding legal issues. The Academy has been active since October 2022. Meetings are held once a month.
