Donald Tusk came to the session of the Sejm to look at the hands of his deputies. I don’t think he trusts them. Apparently he is afraid of something, as he follows the fate of the Russian Influence Commission, PiS Secretary General Krzysztof Sobolewski said in an interview with PAP.
On Friday, the Sejm voted against the Senate’s resolution to reject the bill establishing a committee on Russian influence.
“He’s clearly afraid of something.”
Donald Tusk watched the vote from the Sejm Gallery.
I wanted to see the faces of those who again broke the constitution, broke good manners and fundamental principles of democracy for fear of losing power, for fear of people, for fear of responsibility after losing elections
said Tusk after the vote.
Tusk’s presence in the vote was commented on by the PiS secretary general in an interview with PAP.
He came to the meeting to examine the hands of his deputies. I don’t think he trusts them. He must be afraid of something if he follows the fate of this committee
said Sobolewski.
And what’s more, he recently asked for this assignment himself, so we lived up to expectations
– added.

On April 14, the Sejm passed a law on the appointment of a commission to investigate Russian influence on Poland’s internal security in the years 2007-2022, drafted by PiS deputies. On May 11, the Senate passed a resolution to reject this bill. On Wednesday, the Sejm’s Administration and Home Affairs Committee recommended that the Senate’s resolution be passed by the Sejm. In Friday’s vote, the Sejm voted against the Senate resolution to reject the bill.
By law, the commission must operate under principles similar to those of the Warsaw reprivatization review commission.
The committee would analyze official activities, create, duplicate, share information with third parties; influencing the content of board decisions; making harmful decisions; making advance directives on behalf of a government agency or company; entering into contracts or disposing of public or corporate funds.
The decisions that the committee could take include: revoking an administrative decision issued as a result of Russian influence, issuing a ban on performing functions related to the disposal of public funds for maximum 10 years, and revocation and prohibition of security clearances for 10 years.
