President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that integration within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) should be included only in the economic key. His words are quoted on Facebook by the press secretary of the republic’s leader Ruslan Zheldibay (the owner of Meta was considered an extremist in Russia and was banned).

“During the event (II Eurasian Economic Forum in Moscow. – socialbites.ca), the chairman made a series of statements that are now widely discussed by the community of experts. In this context, I would like to point out that the main message of the head of state is that integration within the framework of the EEU can and should only progress along the economic path.”

Tokayev’s spokesperson stressed that going beyond this framework would violate the aims and objectives of the EAEU legal documents.

Tokayev also specifically stated that Kazakhstan does not intend or plan to establish or join any union state.

Former Russian leader Vladimir Putin signed 13 joint documents following the results of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC) with colleagues from the Eurasian Economic Union.
