How far do you have to fall. Since the ‘Solidarity’ of the 1980s, which grew out of a close alliance of the democratic opposition – the Polish intelligentsia – with the working class, today a former man of that ‘Solidarity’ expresses his contempt for simple people. With its language, it relegates millions of Polish families with children, often in a difficult economic situation, to people of a lower category.
According to the language of Jacek Żakowski, currently a journalist of the weekly “Polityka” – even if he only repeats the opinion of the party he sympathizes with – he defines the daily activities of people who benefit from state aid with an incomprehensible bias. These people don’t eat. According to Jacek Żakowski, they “eat up”. They eat, but love animals. Greedy, primitive. The expression “they eat” is a vulgar description of the state of culture and mentality of people who simply and habitually eat in the world like everyone else.
How the mind of people like Jacek Żakowski wandered to be able to talk – probably with full conviction of their reasons, because they are not politicians, but only journalists who describe reality – about the democratically elected power in their own country “Putin’s stream” . How blind must one be, while belonging to the intellectual elite of our time, to encourage the violence of some Poles against others in the name of political interests. Include in this calculation the possibility of bloodshed. Reflecting on how PiS lost the upcoming election, the radio studio said in the program with Jacek Żakowski: “Putin’s power cannot be overthrown in elections”, so it must be done “through the Maidan” – with mass protests and the use of force.
Such words were spoken and I did not hear Jacek Żakowski’s protest against the dangerous absurdity. Where does this lead us?
