The US state of Montana has passed a bill stating that a person can only be male or female. transmits Fox News. The region’s governor, Greg Gianforte, has signed into law legislation similar to those currently being passed in Kansas and Tennessee, according to the channel.
As noted, the movement has drawn criticism, particularly from LGBT activists, who argued that the bill would block legal recognition of transgender people. At the same time, the authors of the document assure that the law itself is necessary to legally separate the concepts of “sex” and “gender”.
Kansas and Tennessee laws are expected to go into effect on July 1, and Montana laws are expected to take effect on October 1. At the same time, Fox News highlights that some other states are considering passing similar gender-determination laws.
Previously reported in Florida entered into force a law that prohibits talking about LGBT people in kindergartens and schools.
