The Valencia Community Hunting Federation received the full support of Partido Popular, Ciudadanos and Vox for the twelve measures requested by the industry in favor of hunting activities. While the three opposition parties fully endorsed the proposals, the PSPV promised to formulate an alternative agreement on two points: those linked to education and promoting activities between youth and women.. Meanwhile, Compromís and Unides Podem did not decide on the issue, as they emphasized from the federative structure.

Federation president Lorena Martínez valued compliance, in the view that PP, Cs and Vox showed “not only their political will, but also the fairness and consistency of our claims”. “Unides Podem did not respond and Compromís refused any possible meeting with its candidate before the election”Martinez pointed. As for PSPV, it has shown its intention to meet in the coming days, despite the differences of opinion on some issues raised in the “Live Hunting Agreements” document.

They recall from the Federation that the PSOE has signed similar commitments in autonomies such as Extremadura, Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha or Aragon, which invites optimism. «We structured our proposals into twelve blocks so that all parties could sign proposals that they feel comfortable with. in line with their own programs,” the president explained, who saw the silence of some as a “missed opportunity.”

“They have a large number of supporters and potential voters within our collective, and they will not understand that they do not approve of the possibility of signing these measures aimed at preventing hate attacks,” he said.

Contacts between the federation and different politicians competing in the elections began after hunters organized a march on the streets of Valencia on 6 May, which was effective due to the force of call.

The group demands the development of key measures for the hunting sector, such as: public defense of the hunter figure, developing a comprehensive plan to promote hunting or promoting hunting in the field of education. The commitment to the parties uniquely addresses the need for reform in regulatory and bureaucratic matters, the signing of a meat management plan, the social management of public forests, and a firm commitment to research.
