A mayor who has ruled his municipality for 44 years, a former minister, a spokesman for the Valencian Parliament in the last legislature, or a historic trade unionist in Elche. All these profiles close some listings in the province for 28M’s district or municipal elections. The popular José Juan Reus, who spent three terms in Lliber, is looking to renew his absolute majority in the 28M. In parallel, PP’s Alicante regional listing is closing. “I’m glad. Whenever the party needs my support, I’ll be there at any cost,” he said.

Compromís has two prominent faces that close the regional and municipal list for Alicante, respectively former Minister Manuel Alcaraz and Natxo Bellido, who has been the municipal spokesperson in the province’s capital for the past eight years. Alcaraz jokes that he has experience in these fights, as he was the one who closed the Alicante roster in the previous two elections. Now Bellido is getting his wand after leaving municipal politics to jump into regional politics. “It’s nice that our busy people support the project,” says Alcaraz. “I am maximally interested in the candidacy,” adds Bellido.

I couldn’t miss the opportunity to be part of a candidacy that would change the city,” he says in a message pointing to the purpose of the formation: to be part of the next government team.

The history of the PCE and the Workers’ Commissions in Elche, Justo Linde Navarro, closes the list of municipal Unides Podem in the city of Elche. “I’m no longer here for the fuss and meetings, but I’m here to support because I’ve always believed in it,” she says.
