Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he met with Italian Prime Minister George Meloni in Hiroshima within the framework of the G7 summit, stressing that the air defense system should be strengthened and Ukrainian pilots should be trained on Western warplanes. He announced this on his social networks.

“I met with the Prime Minister of Italy, George Meloni. We discussed Italy’s defense and political support for Ukraine and the initial results of our 13 May visit to Italy,” wrote Zelensky.

According to him, “air defense capabilities need to be developed, including the training of pilots.”
