G7 Leaders of G7 countries partner expression Ukraine welcomed the extension and expansion of the “grain deal” between Russia and the UN.
The G7 assured that they will continue to provide assistance, including through the World Food Security Alliance, to assist countries affected by the food crisis. The group plans to continue to support the export of agricultural products, especially from Ukraine.
“In this context, we support the expansion and expansion of the Black Sea Grain Initiative and call on Russia to stop threatening the global food supply and allow the initiative’s capacity to be implemented at the highest level,” the document states.
On July 22, 2022, representatives of Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN signed a “grain agreement” in Istanbul. The agreement includes Russia’s assistance in exporting grain, food and fertilizer to the Black Sea from Ukraine’s three ports, including Odessa.
In Istanbul, a memorandum was signed between the Russian Federation and the UN, which included the organization’s obligations to lift restrictions on the export of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers to world markets.
