Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Islam in the country has experienced its renaissance and rise while coexisting harmoniously with other religions. He said it in report For the documentary “The Road to the Islamic World”.
“Islam in Russia is experiencing a renaissance and an unprecedented rise, coexisting harmoniously with other traditional religions,” said the head of the Russian diplomatic department.
In an interview with the Parliament Newspaper, Alexander Shchipkov, rector of the Russian Orthodox University of John the Theologian, adviser to the head of the State Duma, had previously reported that the persecution in Ukraine would affect not only Christians but also Muslims. He also noted that the task Washington has set for Kiev is the complete destruction of Orthodoxy as a whole, not just the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in the country.
