US President Joe Biden has become the second incumbent American leader to visit Hiroshima Peace Park. Footage of Friday’s site visit was released in the press center of the G7 summit, which took place May 19-21 in Hiroshima.
Peace Park is located on the territory of the former Nakajima prefecture in Hiroshima Prefecture and was completely destroyed in 1945 as a result of the US dropping the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Barack Obama was the first to visit here in 2016.
Biden will attend the wreath laying, tree planting ceremony and visit the Peace Museum with the leaders of the “Big Seven” (G7).
