Anatoly Antonov, the Russian Ambassador to the United States, described the statements of the US authorities regarding the extension of the grain deal as an outright fraud. It has been reported telegraph channel Russian embassy in Washington.
According to Antonov, the statements of the representatives of the American administration are outrageous. Instead of recording the successful completion of the consultations on the agreement, US officials hastened to criticize Russia again and accuse it of creating artificial barriers to grain supplies to the poorest countries.
The ambassador called such comments not merely a distortion of the facts, but outright deception. Washington deliberately forgets the “package” nature of the Istanbul agreements and the special requirements set out in the Russia-UN memorandum that are not met. Antonov is committed to the restoration of Russian ships’ access to foreign ports, the normalization of the situation with dry cargo insurance, the removal of barriers to the sale of agricultural equipment and technologies to our country, the reconnection of Rosselkhozbank to the SWIFT system and the launch of the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline.
The Russian diplomat put forward unfounded claims that Ukrainian grain goes to countries in need. He stated that only 2.5% of the 30 million tons of cargo actually went hungry. Russian products, including humanitarian aid products, are detained in Western ports for a long time.
Antonov advised the US authorities not to shout empty slogans, but to work more actively to correct the imbalances in the global food market due to unilateral sanctions and political demands. He emphasized that moving the “Black Sea Initiative” to a sustainable basis is only possible with full consideration of Russia’s interests.
Former National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan declarationHe said the extension of the grain deal was good, but he deserved certainty about the future of the world.
