Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated that Yerevan recognizes the sovereignty of Azerbaijan within its borders on an area of 86.6 thousand square meters. km, which includes Nagorno-Karabakh, but considers it necessary to send an international delegation to Karabakh and start negotiations. “Three days ago, with the mediation of the President of the European Council, we went further and emphasized that Armenia recognizes 86.6 thousand square meters of Azerbaijani territory. km, Azerbaijan recognizes the territory of Armenia as 29.8 thousand square meters. km”, Pashinyan pointed out that as a result of the illegal closure of the Lachin corridor, the Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians were blocked and they have been living in a humanitarian crisis for 5 months.
He emphasized that an international mission should be sent to the Nagorno-Karabakh and Lachin corridor to detect violations of the law.
In addition, the prime minister added that it is vital to initiate negotiations under international auspices between Baku and Stepanakert in order to ensure the security and rights of Armenians in this region.
