“However, I think that “control” can be said primarily by Poles at the ballot box, and not by a politician who ruled for two terms and whose pro-family policy was crushed by the NIK led by Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, a man of the Platform . There was no systematic support and today Donald Tusk is behaving in a populist way,” Urszula Rusecka, deputy spokesperson for PiS, chair of the parliamentary committee on social policy and family, told the wPolityce.pl portal.
Tusk “controls” PiS
Civic Platform leader Donald Tusk wants to accelerate the government’s introduction of the PiS 800+. He demands that this announcement of the ruling party’s weekend convention be carried out on Children’s Day, and not – as PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński announced – from early 2024.
Yaroslav, I’m checking you today
– the PO chairman addressed the PiS leader.

“put against the wall”
I asked PiS deputy spokesperson Urszula Rusecka for comment on this matter.
It is extremely bold of me to say “I check” of Civic Platform, which cannot afford such a groundbreaking program. The platform, which cannot prepare such a thing itself, assesses our project. Moreover, this is said by the former prime minister, who is well aware of the reality in which the state budget functions
says my interlocutor.
You must be responsible, Law and Justice manages the budget in a reasonable manner. We do not – as the Platform used to do – sell assets. Let me remind you that PLN 60 billion was transferred to the state budget under PO rule after the sale of state-owned enterprises. Also 153 billion that were obtained from open pension funds. And that is why I think it is very wrong to “put Law and Justice against the wall”.
he adds.
In the previous term, I spoke on behalf of the club at the first reading of 500 Plus. I remember very well how the PO behaved at the time and how she commented – the famous words of Donald Tusk about the money buried in Zakopane
— recalled the chairman of the Social Policy and Family Committee.
“Pro-family policy,” said the Tusk administration
MP Rusecka refers to the NIK report on pro-family policy, developed in 2015, when the Chamber was led by Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, associated with PO.
He crushed Civic Platform’s pro-family policy and the very disgraceful year 2008 or 2009, which excluded 2 million children from child support. The income criterion that gave entitlement to this benefit was below the poverty line, it was actually the subsistence level
– denotes PiS deputy spokesperson.
I am shocked and I see a gap between our programmatic convention and Donald Tusk’s meeting in Krakow. Our convention was attended not only by politicians, but also by experts and practitioners in certain fields, and together we try to develop a good program for Poland. At Donald Tusk’s meeting, we heard nothing new, just a reference to our programs and “I’m checking”
he adds.
However, I think that “control” can be said primarily by Poles at the ballot box, and not by a politician who ruled for two terms and whose pro-family policy was crushed by the NIK led by Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, a man of the Platform . There was no systematic support and today Donald Tusk behaves in a populist way
– underlined.
“It’s about making our formation ugly.”
Why do opposition politicians want to speed up something they thought was a “gift away”, had to be liquidated or had no money?
Mr. Andrzej Rzońca, an economic expert from Platforma Obywatelska, once said that when we introduce 500 Plus, the budget deficit will be PLN 100 billion, yet none of that happened. Not only that, we’ve actually reduced this shortfall to a great extent from what Civic Platform left us
Urszula Rusecka points out.
As for budget revenue, it is currently PLN 604 billion, and when we came to power it was PLN 280 billion. And we also have to show it in the context of current events – the time after the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis – the past few years have been a very difficult time. Of course there was an economic crisis in 2008, but what support did the Platform offer residents at the time? It was constructed in such a way that virtually no company, or perhaps just one company, benefited from it. On the other hand, we have pumped more than 200-220 billion into the economy to save jobs
– underlined.
In fact, when we introduced 500 Plus, it was said that the result would be professional deactivation of women. Nothing like that has happened, we currently have one of the lowest unemployment rates in Europe. There was also a very strong attack that parents are drinking away this money or that we only support pathological families (by the way, people who made such statements showed a lack of respect for large families and equated them with pathology). None of these things have been confirmed
he adds.
Meanwhile, Donald Tusk has recently returned to the “supportive pathology” story. Did he realize that he would have rather hurt himself with what he said last week?
I also look at it from the other side – Donald Tusk probably came up with it one way or another by the PR people. It’s about making our formation ugly, to show that PiS is voted on by the least educated people, not working, relying only on social benefits. And such a story is also intended to serve this purpose
– emphasizes Member of Parliament Rusecka.
