In accordance with EU state aid rules, the European Commission has approved Poland’s €1.3 billion program to support agricultural producers.
Poland has notified the Commission of its plans to adopt a program worth about EUR 1.3 billion (PLN 6 billion) to cover the risk of damage to certain plant products and animal species due to adverse weather conditions such as hurricanes, floods and landslides.
The program is open to small, medium and large enterprises active in primary agricultural production in Poland, which will take out insurance through a public tender procedure with insurance companies selected by the Polish authorities.
Eligible beneficiaries are entitled to support up to 65% of their insurance premiums, provided they do not exceed certain thresholds.
