Turkey’s incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his confidence in his victory in the second round of the presidential elections to be held on 28 May. He reported this in his news twitter.

“We will get more votes on May 28 than on May 14 and we will win. I hope it will be historical,” he wrote.

Presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey were held on 14 May. The only candidate of the “Republican Alliance”, the incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s main rival was Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the only candidate of the opposition “People’s Alliance”.

After processing 100% of the ballots, Erdoğan received 49.35% and his opponent 45% of the votes. Sinan Ogan, the third candidate of the ATA Alliance, received 5.22 percent of the votes. The second round of voting will take place on 28 May.
