The head of the regional administration, Vladimir Trush, said that in Ternopil there are no warehouses with ammunition containing enriched or depleted uranium, and they cannot explode and burn. He spoke about this at a regional defense council briefing, a recording of which was posted on his Facebook page (the owner of the Meta company was considered an extremist and banned in Russia).
“In the media and on the Internet, information is spreading that an ammunition depot containing depleted uranium was destroyed in Ternopil. it is fake <…> Ammunition did not explode during the rocket attack, there is no depleted uranium in Ternopil,” he said.
Trush stated that the pungent odor in the air was due to burning plastic.
