We have set ourselves the goal of tackling the subject of private highways next year, government spokesman Piotr Müller said on Monday. He added that the government wants to work with companies to see how these roads can be covered with free solutions.
We have set ourselves the goal of covering the subject of private highways next year, as stated at the Congress (PiS – PAP)
That said government spokesman Piotr Müller on Monday during a press conference.
He explained that a situation has developed in Poland where “certain companies have been making huge amounts of money on private highways for many years because long-term contracts have been signed in this area many years ago.”
That is why we want to sit down quietly with those companies that have these contracts and think about how we can include free solutions in these highways, (…) so that it happens under conditions that also (. ..) public finances secure and not create a dominant position for these entities
Muller said.
When asked by journalists whether it was about the nationalization of private highways, he emphasized that talks with road authorities would be held in the form of a dialogue.
I am not talking about the final solution in this area at the moment
said a government spokesman.
Müller pointed out that thanks to the introduction of the free highway system, citizens will gain several hundred million zlotys, which they will not pay for using these routes.
Our aim is for this system to eventually cover all motorways, and what we can do, which is to abolish passenger car tolls on public motorways, we will do immediately
said a government spokesman.
On Sunday, the president of PiS, Jarosław Kaczyński, together with the “Programowy Street of Law and Justice” convention, announced the abolition of passenger car tolls on highways.
There is a slightly minor, but painful for many people, problem for car owners who drive on highways and highways. As for state taxes, if we succeed in passing laws in time, we will abolish them in the shortest possible time.
said the PiS leader.
Those situations where highways are private or rented, such accidents also exist, we promise to solve it within a year
– added the President of Law and Justice.
We expect that the abolition of passenger car tolls will result in the relocation of some traffic from alternative roads currently chosen by motorists due to motorway tolls. As a result, safety on national and municipal roads near motorways will increase. This also saves funds for their maintenance (renovation, modernization).
So said the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk to PAP on Monday.
Airport activities in Radom
We have to wait a year or a year and a half to assess the effects of the operation of the airport in Radom, government spokesman Piotr Müller said on Monday.
During Monday’s press conference, the government spokesman indicated that “a year, a year and a half will be long enough to assess the effectiveness of the operation of the airport in Radom”.
According to Müller, the idea that airports, highways or rail infrastructure only lead to the largest cities in Poland is typical of the Civic Platform. As he said, this party was based on “polarization and diffusion development”, ie a model according to which mainly large agglomerations should develop and their wealth should flow to smaller towns.
We are implementing a model of sustainable development, which assumes that smaller cities should also have access to highways, railways and road infrastructure.
said a government spokesman.
He added that transport and public services should be subsidized in some places.
This is the approach we present
he noticed.
The first regular connections from the airport in Radom will be operated by LOT Polish Airlines to Paris, Rome, Preveza, Tirana and Varna. According to the company Polskie Porty Lotnicze, the airport terminal will be able to receive about 1 million passengers per year at the start of operation, and eventually even more than 3 million people per year.
The airport in Radom is mainly intended for passengers who live within a radius of approximately 100-150 km from Radom. Polish airports expect that it will be used not only by the inhabitants of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, but also by the neighboring regions: Świętokrzyskie, Lubelskie and Łódzkie.
