“There is one source of success, the root cause: the recovery of the Polish budget. This is a great job from PiS. (…) Hundreds of billions of zlotys were found here, melting like in the fog of our predecessors, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said at the Law and Justice convention.
“Poland of glass ceilings, Poland for VIPs”
On Saturday, a PiS convention will be held in Warsaw with the participation of the party’s leading politicians. The convention opened with a speech by Jarosław Kaczyński; then Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki took the floor.
There is a meme on the internet that has recently become very popular and has been modified by several instances attributed to different situations. Well, on a drawer in the kitchen of one of the major companies is an inscription: Lipton tea only for the board and Saga tea for employees. I think in a way it reflects the socio-economic model that was prevalent before 2015, until PiS took over
said the prime minister.
We have often said that our opponents built a system of liberal Poland, but it would probably be appropriate to add to it if we say that it was a Poland of glass ceilings, a Poland for VIPs, a Poland without access for ordinary people . (…) No respect for ordinary people. (…) The last remarks, which I will not even mention here, from the chairman of the PO are also remarks that testify to the attitude towards ordinary Poles
said the prime minister.
It is in our time, the times of PiS rule, that buying notebooks has largely ended. (…) Politics is work for the common good, not just for the elites
he noticed.
To see the depth of change, what we’ve actually achieved, we need to show this stark difference from the recent past. either we move forward or we return to the days of wild capitalism. Let’s not go back to the days of wild capitalism
– he said.
There is one source of success, the root cause: the recovery of the Polish budget. This is a great job from PiS. (…) Hundreds of billions of zlotys were found there, melting like in a fog in the time of our predecessors
he stressed.
We will do everything we can to make the tax system one of the best in the world. Simplifying this system is something we haven’t quite succeeded in yet. (…) We will continue to simplify taxes
he said.
There is a huge difference in understanding of the role of the state between us and our predecessors. No statism, but a middle ground.
“Only a deaf, heartless person wouldn’t notice.”
If I were to look for what we have changed in the most fundamental issue, it would be this: the reconstruction of the whole system, the whole socio-economic system, would serve exactly what the president (Kaczyński) was talking about: the principle of equality and the fight against inequality. Today, this fight against inequality is becoming more and more popular, you could say, more and more popular all over the world
Morawiecki said.
The Prime Minister judged that “probably only a deaf person, without a heart, would not notice that it was in our time, the time of the PiS government, that the buying of notebooks – to a large extent – ended and the purchase of textbooks in August, many Polish families stopped.”
This is the meaning and purpose of our work, our life in politics; politics is work for the common good, but above all for the common good of all citizens, not just some
said the prime minister.
He made a call not to let wild capitalism return.
Or we move forward for the next 4, 8 years. or we return to the days of wild capitalism
– assessed Prime Minister Morawiecki.
“We have focused on developing productivity”
The prime minister pointed out that the government had made “huge changes” in terms of salaries for Poland.
We have introduced a minimum hourly wage. Now over PLN 20, and let me remind you that not long ago it was both PLN 3 and PLN 4
noted Morawiecki.
The head of government recalled that the minimum wage has increased by more than PLN 1,800.
More than 100%, more than 150% and net salary even more. Thanks to the free allowance, thanks to the tax reduction, the net salary increased even more. But the average wage in the Polish economy grew by more than PLN 2.5 thousand. PLN, and that is only 7 years, that is incomplete 8 years of our rule
Morawiecki emphasized.
In his view, one should look in this context at “what it was like in the time of our predecessors, how high the salaries were, how they focused on cheap work in Poland”.
We focused on something completely different – on the development of productivity, on the increase of automation
stressed the prime minister.
According to the head of government, a Polish employee, a Polish employee, today increasingly operates increasingly sophisticated machines, robots.
Nowadays, this productivity is increasing more and more
he noticed.
We want this trend of salary growth to be as strong as possible
Morawiecki said.
He assured that “we know how to do it, including by attracting new, high-tech investments.
There are well paying jobs. Increased productivity. This is a model that we are already implementing. At the same time possible, precisely because we looked at work and pay from the perspective of an employee, an ordinary Pole, an ordinary Polish family
– he said.
The cabinet has decided that the minimum wage will be increased to PLN 3,490 gross at the beginning of 2023 and to PLN 3,600 from 1 July. At the same time, the minimum hourly rate has been increased this year from 1 January to 22.80 PLN and from 1 July to 23.50 PLN respectively.
Falling national debt
We have a national debt of less than 50 percent. GDP, and fall. It’s decreasing despite these huge expenditures for job defense, for the anti-crisis shield, for defense against high prices of energy, gas and heat. Despite everything, public debt is falling relative to GDP – this year it will be 47-48%, and the EU average is well above 75%. This is the difference between us and our predecessors
said the prime minister.
He added that the actions of his predecessors were “the antithesis of our public finance management”.
Well, in 2013, the national debt was 57 percent, with a small catch. In February 2014, our predecessors took OFE. The then OFE was PLN 155 billion, it was 9 percent. that GDP. So they would violate the constitution, the national debt would rise to 66 percent of GDP. GDP, if they hadn’t taken open pension funds back then – this is a measure of their management of public funds. And they will teach us how to manage public finances. Really, a horse would laugh
Morawiecki said.
“We want entrepreneurs in Poland to become rich”
We want entrepreneurs in Poland to become richer. I believe that Polish entrepreneurs want the same thing as we want Poland to be prosperous and prosperous. They are also Polish patriots. I believe entrepreneurs mean as well as employees
– said the Prime Minister on Saturday at the PiS convention.
Therefore, he added, there is a simplification program and a development program for entrepreneurs through the Polish Development Fund.
Poland should also be a friendly country for entrepreneurs, and the fight against the mafia, the fight for equality, the fight for paying taxes by international companies in Poland is also a fight for a level playing field for you entrepreneurs
– he said.
PiS also included the causal state as one of the key program points.
The guardian state, the guardian of Polish interests. This is our job. And we showed: how the state can respond, how the state can save entrepreneurs’ jobs; how it can be a shield against high energy prices; how a state can build military strength. That’s why we promise a wise middle ground, not statism or interventionism
he said.
Morawiecki stated that “the Polish state will be strong through the strength of Polish workers, entrepreneurs, but also through the strength of Polish institutions.”
We will improve them and this is part of our program
he said.
He emphasized that an important point for PiS is also the continuation of its commitment to seniors.
It is to our mothers, grandmothers, grandfathers and fathers that we are grateful for the Poland they gave us. We give them what we can afford. Thirteenth and fourteenth retirement. The highest indexation, tax-free pension up to PLN 2.5 thousand. zloty.
Morawiecki said.
Simplification of the tax system
We will continue with the Strategic Investment Program, the Local Investment Fund, if Law and Justice is trusted by voters. We will permanently implement these programs
declared the head of government.
There is another obligation, when I talk about the tax system, which is to simplify the system. This is something we haven’t quite succeeded in and we want to simplify it. We have successes here – it’s PIT
said the prime minister.
He stated that he recently asked at a meeting how long it took to complete a tax return and was told it took between 30 seconds and 3 minutes.
Yes, just enter, check, press the key and accept
said the prime minister.
Simplification is possible, our government has done it. And we continue to simplify taxes
added Morawiecki.
