Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that Washington is not considering ending relations with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, because of his dissatisfaction with Moscow. TASSrefers to an interview the politician gave to local TV channels.
“I have never stopped interacting with Putin because, for example, America has a negative attitude towards Russia,” he said.
Erdogan noted that he continues to interact as strongly as possible with the Russian leader. He also noted that Turkey’s trade and economic relations with Russia are stronger than its relations with the United States.
Turkey’s president also said, “Turkey now sees the greatest potential against Russia in terms of revenue generation from tourism.”
Also, Erdogan declarationHe said he was ready to step down if he lost the election.
Turkey will hold presidential and parliamentary elections on 14 May. If neither candidate receives 50 percent of the vote, the second round of the presidential election will be held two weeks later, on May 28.
