Moldovan President Maia Sandu said she had asked Canadian authorities to impose sanctions against fugitive oligarchs. wrote about him twitter.

“I had a productive meeting with the Governor-General of Canada in Ottawa. We discussed the challenges Moldova is facing due to the war in a neighboring country, our continued support for Ukrainian refugees and reform efforts. “I urged Canada to sanction runaway oligarchs to help us fight corruption,” he wrote.

As the President of Moldova pointed out, Chisinau and Ottawa have established a very close cooperation. He also added that a large Moldovan diaspora lives in Canada and this makes his visit even more meaningful.
