The notice states that the new provisions will give the Canadian side the ability to impose sanctions against individuals and organizations in Moldova that systematically violate human rights, jeopardize international peace and security, or engage in significant corruption practices.
The press service of the Canadian prime minister emphasized that Ottawa wants to draw up a series of provisions in accordance with the “Canadian law of special economic measures”, which is currently applied to the Russian Federation for its “illegal” actions in Ukraine.
