The German government will allocate an additional 1 billion Euros to the regions for the care of refugees in 2023. This is stated in the resolution adopted after consultations on refugee issues between federal authorities and states. DEA News.
On this issue, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz met with the heads of government of the federal states on 10 May. He said the discussion was constructive.
Scholz stressed that the goal of refugee policy should be to achieve a solidarity distribution system.
According to the German government, refugees are currently arriving in the country not only from Ukraine, but also from other states. In the first four months of this year, the number of asylum requests increased by 78.4% compared to 2022.
