Political scientist and journalist Vadim Avva in an interview with FAN announced, why the Polish Geographic Commission urged citizens of the republic to call the Russian city of Kaliningrad with the place name Krulevets. According to him, this decision is linked to Warsaw’s political ambitions.
“Poland does not make a proposal for the allocation of Kaliningrad – Poland’s ambitions are much broader. In essence, the Polish political state, its main passion is 15-16-17. Raschism” – such is the Russian identity, – explained Avva.
He added that Kaliningrad is one of the hottest spots as a Russian exclave and that the West will try to organize political and military tensions around it.
Earlier Poland’s call to “rename” Kaliningrad reacted Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia. In response, the politician offered his own options for the names of Polish cities. According to him, the republic itself should become the Duchy of Warsaw or the “Kingdom of Poland as part of the Russian Federation”.
